By studying a life-sized copy of the famous statue in the
Louvre, Ben hopes to find the truth lying behind her many
contradictions.
Is she:
- a collection of fragments or a unified whole? One or
Many? Unum or Pluribus?
- the Platonic essence of woman?
- a whore or a nurturing mother, Mary Magdalene or the Virgin
Mary?
- an ideal woman or merely a beautiful sex object?
In the end, is the truth knowable or are we better off not
knowing it?
